What types of dental procedures the dentists at Samaritan Dental do?

At Samaritan Dental in Tijuana, we are a full service dental clinic. We are proud to offer dental implants with Dr. Arnulfo Vazquez, a US trained and board certified specialist in Implantology. We have a great endodontist in Dr. Gaston Castro, who has served as president of the National College of Dental Surgeons. What ever the dental need you have, if we can’t take care of it in house, we have the appropriate consulting staff that can take care of your need.

The reason that so many people come to Tijuana for dental care is because of the high cost of dental care in the US. They have heard that in Mexico they can find quality dental care for a fraction of the price. In fact, the prices at out Tijuana dental clinic are about 25% for the same procedures done in the US. We offer the same quality, using only materials that are manufactured in the US. At Samaritan Dental, we guarantee our work, and will replace or redo, in our office, any defective work at no charge.

Dental Implants, Better than Denture

Get a more comfortable, secure alternative to dentures with a zirconia bridge attached to dental implants. Our Mexican dental team offers an "all on 6" effect using six implants placed in your jawbone. The appliance looks natural, stays in place, and can only be removed by a dentist for cleaning. We also offer dental implants for missing teeth at a much lower cost than the US. Implant surgery starts at $795 compared to $2,800 in the US, with the second stage at Samaritan Dental in Tijuana only costing $800, compared to $2,200 in the US. Call us for more information.
At our Tijuana dental clinic, we often perform root canals when patients experience tooth pain. However, not all tooth pain means you need a root canal. Sometimes, inflammation of the gums due to food buildup or an improperly adjusted filling can cause pain. This pain can feel like a root canal is necessary, even if you've had one before. The dentist can check for decay using an oral x-ray and physical examination to determine if a root canal is necessary.
Teeth have varying numbers of conduits that run from the jawbone to their centers. Front teeth have one, bicuspids have two, and molars have three to five. The number of conduits is unique to each individual and can only be determined through an x-ray. During a root canal, the top of the tooth is opened and the pulp is extracted while the dental specialist cleans nerve and blood vessel tissue from the conduits. The price for a root canal in the US is at an average of $400 per conduit. In Tijuana, the cost is a flat fee for molars, and another fee for front teeth, without considering the number of conduits.
A root canal specialist requires an additional 2 years of education to properly diagnose and treat complex cases. Factors such as infection, calcified or curved root canals, and tooth fractures can complicate treatment and require a specialist's expertise for successful outcomes. At our Tijuana dentist office, we exclusively employ trained endodontists to perform root canals. General dentists who attempt root canals may have less success, leading to future issues.
After a root canal, the tooth is emptied and filled with a soft material, but it becomes brittle over time and can get re-infected if not filled. The dentist inserts a metal or fiberglass post and uses composite resin to reinforce and reshape the tooth.
Using only the resin to cover a tooth can only work for a short period of time since it is not very strong and cannot withstand constant chewing. This may cause the resin to break, and bacteria may enter the tooth again. A porcelain or zirconia cap is a better alternative because it covers the whole tooth, protecting it and making sure you don't have any issues for a long time.
